 310S duplex has a microstructure that contains both austenitic and ferritic phases and excellent combination of strength and corrosion resistance. In the annealed condition, it has twice the strength of a typical austenitic stainless. Used in oil and pas, pumps and pump parts, valves and chemical and paper manufacturing. 

The typical production process should be: strip raw material → raw material pretreatment → cold bending forming → welding → weld heat treatment → weld (tube body) flaw detection → finishing → finished welded pipe  

310S Stainless steel welded pipe is manufactured by rolling stainless steel plate on a machine then welding the seam. A scarfing blade then removes the weld flash from the inside and outside of the pipe. Many processes heat treat the welding zone to make the seam less visible and provides a more complete finish to the pipe. With today's stainless steel pipe making technology, welded pipe most often has tighter dimensional tolerances than seamless pipe. Using seamless stainless steel pipe or welded stainless steel pipe depends on tolerances, wall thickness and diameter ratio. With this in mind, seamless pipe is more expensive than welded pipe.
