The basic working principle of flux cored wire gas shielded welding is the same as that of ordinary melting electrode gas shielded welding, which uses a meltable flux cored wire as one electrode (usually connected to the positive electrode, i.e. DC reverse connection) and the base material as the other electrode.

The selection of welding wire is mainly based on the type of base material, taking into account the requirements for crack resistance, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of the joint. In general, welding aluminum and aluminum alloys using welding wire with the same or similar grade to the base material composition can achieve better corrosion resistance.

Used for welding the same type of stainless steel, as well as for corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant surface welding.
